Copper weight: The weight of a layer of copper in a PCB is usually given in ounces per square foot. For example, a layer of copper with a weight of 1 oz has a thickness of 1.4 mils. The current carrying capability of a printed circuit board increases with an increase in the weight of its copper traces.
